Below are some the most Frequently Asked Questions about Transvas Profiler

Why should I rent Transvas Profiler when product providers offer reports for free?

Experience shows that a single case put to five product providers for a TVA report can produce up to five different critical yields. It follows that IFAs select the provider who, in their opinion, provides the best report. Transvas Profiler offers you consistency and the ability to recommend the product most suited to your clients needs. [Top of Page]

Who else uses Transvas Profiler?

Transvas Profiler has been regarded as the most accurate and comprehensive independent transfer system on the market for many years. The majority of the large networks and benefit consultants use Transvas Profiler. [Top of Page]

How does the O&M report differ from the others available?

The Transvas Profiler report is broken down into sections on the key issues for your client. It will also be easier for your client to understand as it explains the complex issues using graphs. [Top of Page]

Can I install Transvas Profiler on a local area network?

Yes. The system is designed for this purpose to enable you to share scheme information with your colleagues. The Standard version allows single user access at any one time, whilst the Professional versions offer multi-user access (dependent on CALs) [Top of Page]

Why is there a charge relating to the number of cases I run?

This allows us to keep the monthly rental costs at a level affordable by every IFA. It follows that a firm analysing 50 cases a week would pay more than another analysing only 50 a year! [Top of Page]

How long am I tied to the software for?

Transvas Profiler is subject to an initial 12 month rental period. Following this you only need to give one month's notice to cancel the agreement. [Top of Page]

What about updates?

There are two types of update, data and system: -

  • Data updates are performed monthly and give you the latest product terms
for personal pension and section 32.

  • System updates are performed periodically when enhancements are made to
    the system.

How do I know that the report is accurate?

Transfer analysis is arguably the most complex report used by financial advisers and the O&M report contains over 5,000 results. Whilst we cannot give a guarantee that our report is 100% accurate. You should draw some comfort from knowing that the system is used by product providers, the majority of the large networks, a number of consulting actuaries and some national IFA’s. [Top of Page]

What are the benefits to me of taking the system?

Control and flexibility! The product providers would breach the FSA rules by researching the scheme information on your behalf. By taking the system, you gain control of the whole process and have the flexibility to produce reports when you like and how you like. [Top of Page]

What is the Scheme Library?

Every time you run a case, the client data is saved to enable you to revisit your client as many times as you like to re-run the report. At the same time, the scheme data forms part of your own scheme library. If you get another client in the same scheme, the scheme information will already be in your library. [Top of Page]

I do not understand the case pack charge?

The case pack charge was introduced as a fairer way of charging for the system. By charging on a case-by-case basis the monthly rental has been kept to the minimum and heavy users of the system will have to purchase more case packs. Most people view the case pack charge as being similar to "pay as you go" mobile phones. [Top of Page]

How long do the case packs last?

Nobody can predict how many enquiries you are going to get, so there is no expiry date on the case packs. When you are getting close to using up your cases simply contact our Sales team to order additional packs. [Top of Page]

Why do I have to under go training as I know all about transfers?

This is the most highly regulated area of financial advice and it would be irresponsible to let you have a copy of the system without training. The compulsory training is not designed to teach you about transfers but it will enable you to get the most out of the system with the minimum of ongoing technical support. [Top of Page]

What level of support is available?

A comprehensive user guide, on-line help, IT and User telephone / email Support are provided free of charge. [Top of Page]

What if I get a really awkward case?

From time to time the unusual cases will come along and you may feel that the system cannot handle the benefits involved. This is the big advantage of renting software from a firm that actually uses the software every day for its Bureau Service. The developers who programmed the system and transfer analysts that use it every day all work in the same building.

Our User Support will often be able to answer the query over the phone. Failing that, there is a facility to save the case data as a zip file and e-mail it to our support department. We can then load the case and try to help you further; knowing we are looking at the exact same data as you.

Do you support Citrix Metaframe or Windows Terminal Server environments?

Transvas Profiler is fully compatible with these environments but there are some additional considerations which need to be taken into account. If advised when purchased we will supply full installation instructions for Citrix/Terminal Server. As with every install, we will offer you every assistance to get your system correctly up and running; however; given the complicated nature of these environments you will need to involve your own IT department to assist with the installation. In addition, you will require Administrative permissions when installing and configuring the program. [Top of Page]
