Once you have registered with Transfer Adviser, each case is handled as follows.
Client Agreement / Terms of Business
The client receives our introduction pack, which introduces the staff at O&M who will be dealing with their case, our standard Key Facts documents and an acceptance form to complete.
Also contained in the pack is the Transfer Adviser Pension Transfer Questionnaire, which is the latest version of the O&M Attitude Questionnaire. The document is widely recognised as the industry standard pension transfer factfind. This needs to be completed by the client and will form the basis for the advice we give.
Transfer Analysis
The benefit statements from the vast majority of occupational schemes do not provide enough information for a
comprehensive analysis. Our experienced Transfer Bureau staff will handle all discussions with the scheme to
ensure the analysis is complete and accurate.
Recommendation and Product
Once the results of the analysis have been produced, the key areas are considered in light of the client's
attitude to risk and priorities. The key considerations include; the Critical Yield, Tax Free Cash Sums,
prospects for Early Retirement, the importance of Death Benefits, the provision of Spouse's Benefits and
Retirement Flexibility.
Advice and Suitability
The recommendation package is sent to the client with the Transfer Analysis report and, if positive, the
product justification. Transfer Adviser is primarily a telephone and postal service. However, for larger, more
complicated cases, it may be appropriate to visit clients.
Introducers Fee Paid
If a transfer takes place, the policy will be completed and the Introducer will be paid their share of
commission within 10 days of its receipt by O&M.
Ongoing Client Servicing
Once the policy has been issued and commission paid, the introducer has the option to transfer the client
back into their own agency. Where a policy remains in O&Ms agency, annual statements will be issued, but
more detailed reviews may be subject to a fee based upon the time spent.
