Understanding the PPF
As the scheme is relatively new, the majority of advisers and scheme members have not had the chance to fully understand the
level of protection provided.
Until a scheme gets into trouble your clients have choices, however, once a scheme experiences difficulty, it's too late.
It is essential that you bring this to the attention of your clients now.
O&M's PPF Action Plan is a unique, comprehensive document for advisers whose clients have final salary benefits. The
document is available for download in PDF format and includes:
- Client views on security of their pension or employer.
- Why the Government introduced the PPF.
- Who is eligible for PPF benefits.
- How the PPF is funded.
- The likely benefits provided by the PPF.
- How you can assist your clients with final salary benefits.
- Case studies to highlight protection levels under various circumstances.
To compliment the plan we have also designed:
Client Contact Letter - This has been designed to assist when initially contacting your clients. It is available in
Word format to allow you to customise the document. Simply request that your client completes the
Transfer Bureau Service Letter of Authority.
Newsletter Text - O&M are aware that some advisers provide clients with newsletters on a regular basis. Draft text
is available for you to download and include in your next publication.
PowerPoint Presentation - The PPF is a complex subject, and for this reason O&M has designed a PowerPoint
presentation, which highlights the main issues. The presentation is designed to be used as an aid for advisers when explaining
the complexities of the scheme. The presentation is available for download and you can customise this to include your company
logo etc.
